For the first leg match, Real Madrid were the apparent victors, where they crashed AS Roma’s Champions League ambitions with a resounding and convincing victory—Christiano Ronaldo and Jese ensured that Real Madrid got two precious away goals ahead of the second leg clash at the Bernabeu.
For this clash, Real Madrid remains the favorites to progress to the Champions League quarterfinals, when one considers the fact that AS Roma will need to score more than two goals at the Bernabeu; a daunting task for even the best teams in Europe.
However, several mitigating factors will affect the certainty of Real Madrid’s victory. The first influencing factor is the fact that current Manager Zinedine Zidane only has one Champions League game under his belt. Rightfully so, it was a victory over the current AS Roma squad.
