The most spectacular football tournament, the Champions League, returns this week with some exciting clashes. Undoubtedly, the match between PSG and Chelsea attracts huge attention. Both teams have been performing well throughout the season and are among the top favorites to win their domestic leagues.
Jose Mourinho definitely has built a team worthy of the title of the Champions League. Chelsea play at very high level this season and deservedly have a comfortable lead of 7 points ahead of the second-placed in the Premier League. Looking at the statistics, however, it is clear that the Londoners rely heavily on their solid performance at home. In away matches, Chelsea conceded some poor results during the season, including tough defeats by Tottenham and Newcastle. Paris Saint-Germain in turn, are scoring an average of just over 2 goals per home game. PSG are undefeated in front of their own audience in the Champions League and Ligue 1. Moreover, they did not manage to score a goal at home just once this season.
Chelsea and PSG met in the quarter-final stage of the past season of the Champions League, having exchanged a home win. Then, only one away goal to the benefit of Chelsea, decided the match in their favor. It now remains to be seen, whether PSG will succeed this time, or the team of Jose Mourinho will again prevail over their French opponent.
