Both teams at the bottom of the table are to close the round in the Primera Division with a direct clash to stay in the league. Both teams have a total of 24 points and are 4 points behind the 17th rescue position in the standings. The draw is not an option for those teams and definitely Mallorca and Celta will seek a decisive victory, which will give them a serious chance to remain among the elite of Spain.
Mallorca started astonishingly the season with three consecutive home wins over Valencia, Real Sociedad and Espanyol, but afterwards managed to reach only one victory in front of their own audience. However, this win occured recently against the strong team of Sevilla and gave hope to Mallorca`s supporters for remaining in the Primera Division. Celta Vigo in turn is being devastated this season in its games as a guest. The team has 13 losses out of 15 visits, which automatically puts this team among the favorites for relegation.
Mallorca is definitely the more classy team of the two and is traditionally one of the stable teams in the Primera Division, which hampers all its opponents. This season, however, was too poor for Mallorca and the team will have to engage in serious performance to ensure staying in this league. For 5 seasons Celta was not among the elite, after dropping out of the Primera Division in season 2006/2007 and now it will not be a surprise, if the team re- ends up in the Segunda Division.
