Wolves Aim to Continue Improvement

Wolves Aim to Continue Improvement

There are two Premier League matches to look forward to on Sunday 25th November, the second of which is between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Huddersfield Town at Molineux.

Wolves start the weekend in 11th place on 16 points but know if they can win this game and other results go their way, they can move back into the top half of the Premier League table.  Huddersfield have a relegation battle on their mind and a win for them could see them move out of the bottom three and as high as 14th if other results are in their favour.

Having suffered three straight defeats in the Premier League which was threatening to ruin their great start to the campaign, Wolves picked up a great point in a 1-1 draw at Arsenal prior to the international break.  In fact, Wolves were unlucky not get all 3 points having conceded a late equaliser.

It was a sign Wolves could be about to return to form having suffered defeats to Watford and Tottenham Hotspur at home plus Brighton and Hove Albion away.

Wolves fans will be pleased to see their team back at Molineux as trends show they have lost only three of their last thirty matches on home soil. However, two of those three defeats have come in their last two home league games and Wolves will hoping to get back to winning ways at home.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s team have produced some good performances at home against Everton, Manchester City, Burnley and Southampton.  Trends show Wolves have scored in all but one of their home Premier League matches this season.

Huddersfield Town will be feeling a little better about their chances of survival this season having picked up 4 points from their last two Premier League games.  The Terriers defeated Fulham 1-0 at home in a crucial match between two teams at the bottom the table and followed that with a point in a 1-1 draw with West Ham United at home before the international break.

However, trends show Huddesfield have been in poor away form for some time and they have won just three of their last twenty-seven games in all competitions. They have failed to win any away match this season and have picked up 2 points from a possible 15 on the road in the Premier League.

Team news and Wolves could have problems in the wing-back positions for this game.  Jonny will definitely miss out having suffered a serious injury with Spain while Matt Doherty is also a doubt with a facial injury.

Huddersfield could have problems in defence with Zanka suspended and doubts over the fitness of Chris Lowe.  That could mean on Gorenc Stankovic comes in to the back three as Huddersfield play five across the midfield in an attempt to stifle Wolves.

Wolves were much improved against Arsenal last time out and with Huddersfield proving so disappointing away from home, we should see a return to winning ways for the home team.
