Romania set for a comfortable win in Lithuania

On Thursday night, Lithuania host Romania in the Nations League, as the home side look to avoid a third straight defeat in the new competition.

Lithuania have kicked off their UEFA Nations League campaign with defeats against both Serbia and Montenegro. The defeats were not shocks, however, as the home side have now suffered four consecutive losses.

In fact, they have now lost seven of their last international outings. Victories have been hard to come by for Lithuania, who have won just once in their last 16 outings.

One of the main problems for Lithuania of late has been finding the net, as they have failed to score in six of their last eight matches, including their last four games.

Lithuania’s recent home record is not much better than their record in general, as the home side has lost four of their last five games. They have also scored just once in four home matches.

Romania heads into this clash on an unbeaten run of six games. The visitors have drawn their opening UEFA Nations League games against Montenegro and Serbia. A record of just one defeat in ten international outings shows that the visitors are a difficult team to beat.

The visitors have been relatively prolific of late in the international game, having scored at least twice in four of their last six matches, including three of their last four games.

One negative heading into this clash is Romania’s away record, as the visitors have won just one of the last seven games on their travels in all competitions. They have also failed to keep a clean sheet in their last six games on the road, contributing to that poor win ratio.

Romania are the team in form heading into this clash, so it is unsurprising that Forebet predicts that the visitors will record a victory in a low-scoring encounter.
