The sixth round of Premier League fixtures start this weekend and there are four teams who have yet to record single win.  One of those teams is Cardiff City and they are up against it this weekend as they meet Manchester City at the Cardiff City Stadium.

These are the sort of games newly promoted teams and fans look forward to playing.  However, Cardiff are still searching for their first win of the season and this is not an ideal match.

Manchester City know they cannot afford to drop any more points against Premier League newcomers as they look to close the gap on Chelsea and Liverpool.

Cardiff City have found life tough at the beginning of their Premier League campaign. They have picked up just 2 points from five games, both of which came courtesy of 0-0 draws.  One at home against Newcastle United and the other away at Huddersfield Town.

Trends show Cardiff have won just one of their last nine games in all competitions and have lost each of their last three matches.

Cardiff have started to score goals in the Premier League and scored 2 goals against Arsenal and one at Chelsea last weekend.  However, they still have just 3 goals to their name this season, with Huddersfield the only team with fewer in the league.  In addition, Cardiff have conceded 7 goals in their last two Premier League games.

Manchester City suffered a shock 2-1 home defeat at the hands of Lyon in the Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s team were expected to make light work of their group but now have plenty to do to qualify for the knockout stages.

he Citizens start the weekend third in the Premier League, 2 points behind the leaders.  A convincing 3-0 win over Fulham last weekend means Manchester City are undefeated in the Premier League this season, winning four and drawing one of their five games.  The draw came at Wolverhampton Wanderers on the 25th August.

Trends show Manchester City are undefeated in their last eleven Premier League games, a run which stretches back to last season.  They have won seven and drawn one of their last eight away league matches and have scored an average of 2.7 goals per game during that run of away fixtures.

Team news and Cardiff are without the injured Nathaniel Mendez-Laing, who has a knee problem.  Aron Gunnarson, Josh Murphy and Harry Arter are all rated as doubtful, with the latter being given the best chance of starting the match.

Manchester City should have Sergio Aguero fit to start in attack and he is set to be joined by Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling.  Eliaquim Mangala, Claudio Bravo, Danilo and Kevin De Bruyne are all injured while Benjamin Mendy is a doubt.

Neil Warnock will set out to make things as difficult as possible for Manchester City, as they did last season despite falling to a 2-0 defeat in the FA Cup.  However, Manchester City will be hurting following their loss in the Champions League and should come away with the win, with another 2-0 victory a distinct possibility.
