Atletico Madrid host Valencia at the Wanda Metropolitano on Sunday night in a big game at the top of La Liga.

Atletico Madrid are currently second-place in La Liga, 11 points behind league leaders Barcelona and six points clear of the third-place visitors.

Diego Simeone’s side are now unbeaten in four La Liga games, having recorded three wins and a draw. Last time out, Atletico hammered struggling Las Palmas 3-0.

The team from the Spanish capital have been strong defensively of late in La Liga, conceding just one goal in their last four league games. The home side’s defensive record has contributed to there being under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven La Liga outings.

Diego Simeone’s team are unbeaten in 12 La Liga games at the Wanda Metropolitano, recording eight wins in the process. Atletico have also conceded just five goals in their unbeaten home run.

Valencia have been enjoying a strong La Liga campaign. However, Los Ches’ league form has dipped of late, as the visitors have lost five of their last eight La Liga outings. Last time out in La Liga, Marcelino’s side suffered a 4-1 defeat against reigning champions Real Madrid.

Los Ches’ games have offered good entertainment value, as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last seven La Liga outings, including their last four league outings.

The visitors have a poor recent away record in La Liga, losing three of their last four games. Their recent away games in the Spanish top-flight have been high scoring, with over 2.5 goals scored in their last three league games on their travels.

Valencia have not won any of the last six meetings between the two teams in all competitions.

Forebet predicts that Atletico Madrid will record a victory in a low scoring encounter.
