Perth to scrape a win in Brisbane
On Thursday, Brisbane Roar host Perth Glory at Suncorp Stadium in the A-League, as the visitors look to book a place in the final series play-offs.
Brisbane are not so much roaring as spluttering this season in the A-League. The home side have enjoyed a campaign to forget and currently sit second from bottom in the table.
A record of just one win in their last seven outings in the Australian top-flight goes a long way to explaining their poor position in the table. Their current run in the league can only be described as woeful, as John Aloisi’s side have lost five of their previous six games in games in the league.
Brisbane’s home record is not much better. The Roar have won just one of their last nine league games on home soil while suffering four straight defeats at the Suncorp Stadium. Aloisi’s side have also conceded two or more goals in their last four home games in the A-League.
Perth are just three points ahead of Brisbane, such is the congested nature of the A-League table. However, a win for the Glory in Brisbane would put them level on points with Western Sydney Wanderers, who occupy the final play-off spot.
Kenny Lowe’s team have been in terrible form of late, losing their last four games in the Australian top-flight, while conceding at least twice in all four defeats. Last time out the visitors suffered a 3-2 defeat at Melbourne Victory.
Lowe’s side do not have a great away record, as they have won just two of their last ten games on their travels in the A-League, suffering defeats in three of their last four away games on the road. Their away games in the A-League have at least been high scoring, with five of their last six away games producing over 2.5 goals.
There is not much between these two teams, but Forebet predicts that the visitors will record a narrow win in a high scoring match.
