The end of 2017 was looking promising for Inter Milan as they claimed a point at Juventus in a 0-0 draw at the Allianz Stadium and showed they were a team capable of competing at the top of Serie A.

That result gave them and the fans real belief they could mount a challenge for the title this season but what should have acted as a springboard to push both Napoli and Juventus at the top of the league, started a decline in results.

This Saturday Inter Milan welcome Lazio to the San Siro, who themselves are enjoying a good season.  Inter Milan would love nothing more than to finish the season on a high but come up against a tough looking Lazio team.

Despite defeating Serie C1 club Pordenone on penalties in the Coppa Italia, trends show Inter Milan have failed to win their last five games in all competitions.

The match against Pordenone finished 0-0 after 90 minutes and extra-time, a result which followed the 0-0 in Turin.

However, having scraped through against Pordenone, Inter Milan lost their following three matches.  There were defeats against Udinese and Sassuolo in the league and to bitter local rivals AC Milan in the Coppa Italia.

Inter Milan have struggled in-front of goal in recent weeks and have scored just once in their last five games in all competitions. However, at home they have scored in every Serie A match this season and will hope that form continues.

Lazio make the trip to the San Siro having secured a place in the semi-final of the Coppa Italia thanks to their 1-0 win over Fiorentina.

Trends show Lazio are now unbeaten in their last four games in all competitions, with wins over Cittadella in the Coppa Italia and Crotone in Serie A.  The other match finished in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Udinese.

Lazio have lost only three games in Serie A this season and have tasted defeat in just two of their last twelve.  They have won seven of their last nine away Serie A games and that includes an excellent 2-1 win at Juventus.

Lazio have been enjoying themselves in-front of goal on the road in Serie A this season and have netted an average of 2.56 goals in their away league games.

Team News and Inter Milan have central defender Miranda and right-back Danilo D’Ambrosio on the treatment table.  However, every other player should be available.

Lazio travel without Felipe Caicedo and Davide Di Gennaro who are injured.  Their main concerns surround suspensions and Federico Marchetti, Filip Djordjevic, Brayan Perea and Christopher Oikonomidis will all miss the game for disciplinary reasons.

This match has the potential to be the pick of the games in Serie A this weekend.  Inter Milan will be desperate to get back to winning ways and continue their title challenge but Lazio will have other ideas.

This will be a closely fought game and we should see over 2.5 goals between two team have enjoy finding the back of the net home and away respectively.
