Tottenham Hotspur will entertain Southampton on the boxing day, but without any doubt, the most important box of gift for this clash will be the one that contains the maximum three points. We will have to wait to know the team that will have it.

This match will be an interesting one and it surely has a lot of things to point out but there are some interesting facts to point out about the two coaches in charge of these two teams.

One is Mauricio Pochettino, the other is Mauricio Pellegrino, they both played as defenders in their playing days, they are both Argentine, one is 45 years old and the other is 46. Pellegrino is presently coaching Southampton, Pochettino was once their coach, they've both also coached in Spain, Deportivo Alavez and Espanyol respectively.

Southampton will be traveling to Wembley at this point when they are really struggling, they have barely managed to get 4 wins from 19 games played and 7 draws and 8 loses, they sit on 13th position with just 3 points above the relegation zone. A defeat against Tottenham will just bring them down to the relegation zone.

It's so certain that the coaching staff will not be at ease in this moment, knowing the nature of Premier League, Mauricio Pellegrino might be the next manager to be sacked if Southampton don't get better in their next few games.

On the other hand, Tottenham are also doing their best to pick points, considering the fact that they had struggled a lot during the season, and one cannot help but notice the decline of Dele Alli which might also be one of the reasons while Tottenham are on 5th and 21 points from Man City.

The form of Harry Kane continues to earn him comparison with the likes of Messi and Ronaldo. He is only one goal from equaling Messi's tally as the highest goal scorer of the year 2017, Messi had played his last game for the year. Harry Kane still has one against Southampton at Wembley.

Considering that he scored hattrick in his last game against Burnley, he can pip Messi to this record. No wonder Pep called Tottenham an Harry Kane team, absolutely fair and not out of disrespect. A Tottenham without Kane will certainly not be the same.
