Cork to continue formidable run on Monday night

Cork to continue formidable run on Monday night

Cork City have been a formidable force in the Irish Premier League this season and could go an incredible 20 points clear at the top of the table when they host Bohemians on Monday night.

The home side have won their last nine games in the Irish top-flight. In fact, John Caulfield’s team have won 21 of their 22 league games this season, while conceding just 11 goals in the process.

Unsurprising considering their dominant position, Cork are also the top scorers in the Irish Premier League, having scored 58 goals.

The league leaders have built a reputation for their strong home form in the Irish top-flight, having won their last 18 games on home soil in the league. The home side have also scored two or more goals in 17 of those home victories.

Last time out Cork recorded a 2-1 win over Galway United to move 17 points clear of second place Dundalk in the table. They will be confident of extending their winning run and lead at the top of the table in this encounter.

Bohemians are currently sixth in the Irish top-flight after a dip in form of late. Last time out the visitors ended a three-game losing run with a 2-1 win at Shamrock Rovers.

One notable feature of Bohemians in recent months has been the fact that they have a better recent record on their travels than on home soil. Keith Long’s side have won four of their last five away games in the league.

The visitors have also managed to score two or more goals in all four of those victories. Their solid hosts will test that prolific record.

Cork have looked in a different league to their opponents in the Irish top-flight this season and Forebet predicts that the leader's good form will continue in this clash with yet another win.
