Nottingham Forest desperately need to end PL losing streak against Brighton

Nottingham Forest lost their last two Premier League matches and are dangerously close to the relegation zone. Will our algorithm predict a positive result for the Reds?

Forest will visit the Amex Stadium on Sunday to face off with Brighton. The last time the clubs played at the Amex Stadium in the league, the match ended nil-nil.

That result during the 2022-23 season helped Forest retain their Premier League status. Manager Nuno Espirito Santo would love another point, as Forest are in danger of being deducted points due to their financial status.

Brighton are ninth in the standings and treading water in midtable. The Seagulls won just two of their last six matches in the Premier League.

While Brighton are still scoring goals, 11 in the last six games, the defence has been guilty of conceding them (11).

The excitement over Robert De Zerbi’s team from early in the season has faded. Of course, Brighton are still battling in the Europa League, but their fight for European qualification in the league has taken a hit.

Brighton failed to win their last two games. A 1-1 draw with Everton was followed by a 3-0 loss to Fulham.

Forest lost their last two league matches. A 4-2 defeat away to Aston Villa was followed by a 1-0 loss to Liverpool.

Last weekend’s defeat to Liverpool came in the 99th minute when Darwin Nunez headed the league leaders to the win.

Neither team’s defence is playing well ahead of the fixture. Forest have conceded 49 goals this season, while Brighton have allowed 44.

The reverse fixture at the City Ground was a goal-fest, with five goals scored by the clubs. Brighton ultimately won 3-2, as they came from a goal down to win.

Forest’s Anthony Elanga opened the scoring in the third minute, but Brighton hit back with a goal from Evan Ferguson and two from Joao Pedro. Morgan Gibbs-White scored a second-half penalty for Forest but that was as close as they got.

Pedro will miss the match for Brighton due to a hamstring injury. James Milner will most likely miss out after sustaining a thigh strain.

Kaoru Mitoma is out for the rest of the season with a back problem and Billy Gilmour is suspended for the fixture.

For Forest, Nuno Tavares is unlikely to play due to an injury. Meanwhile, Willy Boly, Ola Aina, and Chris Wood could all return from their respective injuries.

Although Brighton are not playing well, they should get a win at home versus Forest. Our score predictor algorithm predicts a 3-1 win for Brighton at the Amex.
