Can Aston Villa’s attack show up at Bramall Lane in vital PL clash with Sheffield United?

Aston Villa’s attack has suddenly gone cold with just one goal in their last 180 minutes of Premier League football. Will our algorithm predict a win for Aston Villa and the goals to flow at Bramall Lane against Sheffield United?

On Saturday, the Villains will make the trip to Yorkshire to play Sheffield United. Unai Emery’s team has hit the skids in recent weeks, with just one point from their last six on offer.

Villa’s back-to-back matches without a win has led to the falling to fifth place due to goal difference.

They are now eight points off the top of the table and three from second place.

Sheffield United, on the other hand, are bottom of the Premier League with just 10 points from 22 games.

A mere two wins were secured by Sheffield United this season, while a league-leading 54 goals were allowed.

There may be hope for the Blades on Saturday. In the teams’ reverse Premier League match, Sheffield United earned a point on the road at Villa Park.

Cameron Archer opened the scoring for Sheffield United in the 87th minute.

With the Blades looking likely to pick up a win, Villa’s Nicolo Zaniolo scored an equaliser in the 96th minute to give the West Midlands club a share of the spoils.

The match saw six yellow cards in a feisty affair.

The trend between the clubs isn’t good for Villa. They won just one of their last six games in all competitions against Sheffield United dating back to 2019.

Emery will be desperate to end that trend of winless games and get Villa back to winning ways.

United failed to win their last two games at Bramall Lane. However, both of their wins this season were at the stadium.

Aston Villa also failed to win their last two away matches. They took 15 points from 33 on the road this season, however.

Aston Villa’s long-term absentees Emi Buendia and Tyrone Mings remain out of action.

Lucas Digne and Pau Torres are both unlikely to be fit, putting pressure on Emery’s options in defence.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has a long list of potentially injured players. He could be without as many as nine players, including new signing Ivo Grbic and Tom Davies.

The good news is Wilder could have Ben Brereton Diaz available.

Diaz joined in January from Villarreal and already has two goals. He is just two goals behind the club’s goal scoring stats leader, Oli McBurnie.

Can Sheffield United take points off Aston Villa once more? Our algorithm doesn’t believe it will occur. Aston Villa should overcome their recent form with a 3-1 win over bottom-of-the-table Sheffield United.
