Inter Milan host arch-rivals Juventus on Sunday evening as the top two in Serie A look to gain an advantage in the race for the Scudetto.

As it stands, Inter lead Juventus by a solitary point in the table, although the Nerazzurri have a game in hand on the Old Lady.

We have evaluated all the key stats and trends ahead of Sunday’s showdown. Keep reading to find out the outcome of Forebet’s predictive analytics model.

Inter Milan head into the Derby d’Italia on the back of a 1-0 victory over Fiorentina, courtesy of Lautaro Martinez’s first-half winner.

Martinez has now scored 19 goals in 19 Serie A appearances this season, putting him seven goals clear of Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic at the summit of the Capocannoniere standings.

Not only have Inter won seven of their last eight league games, but they have also won 11 of their previous 13, remaining unbeaten in that time.

Let’s not forget that Inter have also won eight of their 10 home matches in Serie A this season, scoring 27 goals in the process (2.7 goals per game).

Meanwhile, Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw by Empoli last time out, with Arkadiusz Milik receiving a red card after just 18 minutes.

Still, Max Allegri’s side remain unbeaten in their last 17 Serie A matches, having picked up 13 wins and four draws since their last loss.

It is also worth noting that Juventus have lost just one of their 11 away league outings this term, taking 26 points from a possible 33 on the road.

Having scored 19 goals on their travels this season – averaging 1.7 goals per away game – Juve will back themselves to find the back of the net on Sunday.

Head-to-head: The reverse fixture saw Juventus and Inter play out a 1-1 draw in Turin back in November, with Vlahovic and Martinez scoring the goals.

Across the past nine meetings in all competitions, Inter and Juve have produced five draws, with both teams winning on two occasions.

Team news: Inter Milan’s injury list remains small-scale, although Juan Cuadrado will not face his former club due to an Achilles tendon problem.

As for the visitors, Milik is suspended following his red card last weekend. Mattia De Sciglio and Tiago Djalo are injured, while Federico Chiesa, Adrien Rabiot and Moise Kean are doubts.

If recent statistics are anything to go by, Sunday’s showdown will be a close-fought battle between the strongest teams in the division.

Forebet’s algorithm predicts that Inter Milan and Juventus will share over 4.5 goals at the San Siro, with the hosts edging the visitors on this occasion.
