Two giants of Ligue 1 will clash this Friday to kick off another weekend of Ligue 1 action as Paris Saint-Germain welcomes Monaco to the French capital.

After a rough start to the season, PSG have returned to the top of the table in recent weeks and now sit with a stunning record of 29 goals scored and only nine let in so far.

This comes off the back of yet another magical display from Kylian Mbappe, who netted another hat-trick against Reims.

Mbappe now has 13 goals in 11 Ligue 1 games and is no stranger to a goal against his former side either.

The Ligue 1 giants did lose to AC Milan at the San Siro before the international break, however, making their match against Newcastle United in midweek a must-win game.

Nevertheless, PSG have won five in a row now in Ligue 1 since a 0-0 draw with Clermont Foot.

This includes victories over Rennes, Strasbourg, Brest and Montpellier where they've netted three goals in each match, keeping three clean sheets in the process.

Nice are behind them by one point in the table and remain the only unbeaten side left in the French top flight, while Monaco are only three adrift of them in third with 24 points in what has been an excellent season for them.

Monaco have had a shake up in the last few weeks, however, as they drew 0-0 with Le Havre just before the international break.

They did, however, defeat Brest before this, as Denis Zakaria got among the goals that day before Aleksandr Golovin scored too.

Monaco are also not in Europe this season, and further results in the past month have seen them beat the in-form Reims on their own patch with goals from Ismail Jakobs, Folarin Balogun and another from Wissam Ben Yedder.

They did also lose to Lille three weeks ago, but this is one of just two losses so far for Monaco, as Nice also took all three points from them at the Stade Louis II stadium.

Monaco won the last meeting between these two sides in Ligue 1, handing the Ligue 1 champions a 3-1 loss in the midst of a tense title race between them and Lens.

After a 1-1 draw earlier on in that campaign and a 3-0 win for Monaco before that, you have to go all the way back to 2021 to see PSG's last win over Monaco in Ligue 1.

Forebet predicts a draw and under 2.5 goals.
