Brighton aiming to return to winning ways against Forest

Brighton & Hove Albion will aim to halt a six-game winless run in the Premier League when they take on Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Saturday.

The two sides are separated by six points in the Premier League table, with fourteenth-placed Forest trailing eighth-placed Brighton.

Given Forest’s strong home record in recent times, the Seagulls will need to be at their best if they are to end their winless streak on Saturday.

Prior to the international break, Steve Cooper’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat against West Ham United, throwing away a 2-1 lead at the London Stadium.

Consequently, the Tricky Trees have managed to win just one of their previous eight Premier League games, recording four draws and three losses in that time.

It is worth noting, however, that Forest have avoided defeat in each of their five home league matches this term, picking up two wins and three draws in the process.

Having lost just four of their last 24 matches at the City Ground, Cooper’s men will be confident of securing a positive result this weekend.

Brighton, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Sheffield United last time out, meaning they have drawn four of their previous five league matches.

Thanks to a couple of Europa League victories, the Seagulls have avoided defeat in each of their past five clashes across all competitions.

However, Roberto De Zerbi’s men have failed to win any of their previous six league games, taking just four points from a possible 18 during that sequence.

It is also worth pointing out that both teams have scored in each of Brighton’s last 16 Premier League clashes, meaning we should see goals at both ends of the pitch on Saturday.

Head-to-head: Nottingham Forest took four points from a possible six against Brighton last term, drawing 0-0 at the Amex before winning 3-1 at the City Ground.

Across the past 13 meetings between Forest and Brighton, both sides have picked up four wins, playing out five draws along the way.

Team news: The hosts will be without injured winger Callum Hudson-Odoi this weekend, with Murillo, Felipe and Gonzalo Montiel all doubts.

Brighton’s extensive injury list features Danny Welbeck, Solly March, Julio Enciso, Tariq Lamptey, Pervis Estupinan, James Milner, Lewis Dunk and Evan Ferguson.

Although Brighton are favored to claim all three points on Saturday, it is difficult to ignore Forest’s hugely impressive record at the City Ground.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Nottingham Forest will hold Brighton to a low-scoring draw on Trentside.
