Inter set to edge out Juventus in high-scoring thriller
4858

Newly-crowned Serie A champions Inter Milan will be looking to flex their muscles when visit the Allianz Stadium to face recently-dethroned Juventus on Saturday.

Inter wrapped up the title last week and currently boast a whopping 13-point lead over second-place Atalanta, having lost just two of their 36 matches this season.

With six defeats to their name, Juventus find themselves in fifth – one point outside the Champions League places and 16 points behind Inter.

After winning just five of their last ten games (two draws, three losses), Juventus are in real danger of missing out on a top-four finish.

Wednesday’s 3-1 victory over Sassuolo has kept Andrea Pirlo’s men in the hunt, but they can’t afford to drop any more points between now and the end of the season.

Having conceded 35 goals this term, Juventus currently have the second-best defensive record in Serie A – behind Inter (31).

However, they have only managed to score 70 goals this term. The top four teams have all scored more than Juve.

Cristiano Ronaldo has netted 28 goals in 32 league appearances in 2020/21, but his teammates haven’t been able to contribute enough.

As we already know, Inter Milano have only lost two of their 36 Serie A games this term – recording 27 wins and seven draws along the way.

Antonio Conte’s men head into Saturday’s clash on a 20-match unbeaten streak, which comprises 16 wins and just four draws.

Inter have scored a combined total of eight goals across their last two matches, thrashing Sampdoria 5-1 before beating Roma 3-2 on Wednesday.

That means they have now netted a mammoth 82 league goals this season – averaging a touch over 2.2 goals per game.

Romelu Lukaku has bagged 22 goals and ten assists in 34 Serie A appearances this term and has been immense throughout the title-winning campaign.

Head-to-head: Juventus got the better of Inter in the Coppa Italia earlier in the season, sealing a 2-1 aggregate win.

However, Inter claimed a 2-0 victory over Juve in Serie A back in January and have been far better than Pirlo’s side this year.

Team news: Thankfully for Juventus, they have no injury concerns heading into two vitally important fixtures for the club.

On the other hand, Inter are likely to be without injured duo Arturo Vidal and Aleksandar Kolarov on Saturday.

Juventus will be eager to finish the season on the high, but at the end of the day, Inter have been on a completely different level to their rivals this term.

Forebet predicts that Inter will beat Juventus in a high-scoring thriller on Saturday, with both teams netting over 1.5 goals.
