Fifth-place Real Sociedad welcome to fourth-place Sevilla to Anoeta on Sunday afternoon for an important clash at the top end of La Liga.
There may only be one place between the two sides, but Sevilla currently hold a 14-point lead over Real Sociedad.
Real Sociedad have only lost two of their last 11 La Liga matches, picking up four draws and five draws in the process.
However, Sociedad were knockout out of the Europa League Round of 32 at the end of February, losing 4-0 on aggregate to Manchester United.
Looking at the bigger picture, Sociedad have lost just three of their previous 17 games in all competitions.
Having said that, Sociedad have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last four league games, conceding six goals against Barcelona last month.
On the flip side, Sevilla have only lost two of their last 13 La Liga matches, as well as four of their previous 20.
Following a run of four wins and one draw, Sevilla head into Sunday’s clash on a five-game unbeaten streak.
Sevilla came from behind to secure a dramatic 4-3 victory over Celta Vigo last time out, meaning they are now the fifth-highest scorers in La Liga.
It is also worth noting that Sevilla boast the joint-second best defensive record in the division, behind Atletico Madrid.
In the grand scheme of things, Sevilla have only lost ten of their last 67 matches in all competitions. Needless to say, they are enjoying an impressive campaign.
Head-to-head: On home soil, Sevilla claimed a 3-2 victory over Real Sociedad in the reverse fixture back in January.
Sevilla are unbeaten in their previous six La Liga meetings with Sociedad, recording four wins and two draws in the process.
Team news: Real Sociedad are still without long-term absentee Luca Sangalli, who is currently recovering from a serious knee injury.
On the other hand, Sevilla have no fresh injury concerns heading into Sunday’s clash, although Jesus Navas and Ivan Rakatic are both one yellow card away from suspension.
Given that three of the previous four meetings between Sociedad and Sevilla have produced over 3.5 goals, another high-scoring encounter is on the cards.
