It’s third against fourth in the Bundesliga this weekend as Wolfsburg travel to the Waldstadion to face off against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.

Third-place Wolfsburg currently sit four points ahead of fourth-place Frankfurt, making this a hugely important battle in the race for a top-four finish.

Frankfurt head into Saturday’s showdown on a four-match unbeaten streak in the Bundesliga, picking up two draws and two wins in the process.

After thrashing Union Berlin 5-2 before the international break, Eintracht returned to action with a 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund.

Looking at the bigger picture, Frankfurt have only lost three of their 27 league games this season and have suffered just one defeat in their previous 16.

It is also worth noting that Eintracht Frankfurt have only lost four of their last 25 home games in all competitions and are unbeaten in last 15 home matches in the Bundesliga.

However, let’s not forget that both teams have scored in each of Frankfurt’s last six matches in all competitions.

On the flip side, it is important to remember that Wolfsburg have only lost four of their previous 28 outings in all competitions.

Thanks to an excellent run of nine wins in their last 11 Bundesliga matches, the Wolves are on course to qualify for next season’s Champions League.

In fact, Wolfsburg could move level with second-place RB Leipzig on 57 points if results go their way this weekend.

Wolfsburg’s nine-match unbeaten streak was brought to an end by Hoffenheim last month, but they have since bound back with three straight wins.

Head-to-head: Wolfsburg claimed a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the reverse fixture back in December.

It is also worth mentioning that Wolfsburg have won each of their last four away games against Frankfurt in all competitions.

Team news: Frankfurt will be without injured quartet Almany Toure, Makoto Hasebe, Martin Hinteregger and Ragnar Ache this weekend.

On the other hand, Admir Mehmedi, Paulo Otavio and Renato Steffen are all currently sidelined for Wolfsburg.

Both teams have scored in five of the last six meetings between Frankfurt and Wolfsburg, with over 2.5 goals being scored on four occasions.

With that in mind, Saturday’s clash is likely to be a high-scoring affair with goals at both ends of the pitch.

Forebet predicts that Eintracht Frankfurt and Wolfsburg will produce a draw on Saturday, with over 3.5 goals looking likely.
