Levante and Huesca heading for customary La Liga draw

Struggling Huesca will be aiming to move off the bottom of the La Liga table when they visit Levante on Friday night.

Huesca are currently two points adrift at the foot of the standings, while Levante find themselves tenth – 14 points ahead of Huesca.

Given that Levante have only lost five of their last 30 matches in all competitions, you would think they are in good form.

However, when you consider that Levante have only won two of their previous 11 outings, it is clear that their recent performances have been below par.

Levante suffered a 2-0 defeat to Real Betis before the international break, meaning they have lost two of their last three La Liga games.

On a brighter note, it is worth pointing out that Levante haven’t trailed at half-time in any of their previous 13 home games in all competitions,

Meanwhile, off-form Huesca have only managed to win four of their previous 30 matches in all competitions.

And to make matters worse, they have also failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last 13 away outings.

Three wins in 28 La Liga games mean Huesca find themselves four points from safety, although only team in the division has drawn more matches this season.

Huesca only managed to win one of their opening 20 La Liga games this season, but they have since won two of their last eight.

It may only be a slight improvement, yet Huesca can take confidence from the fact that they seem to be growing into the campaign.

Head-to-head: Levante and Huesca produced a 1-1 draw in the reverse fixture back in December, with Huesca taking the lead on that occasion.

In fact, each of the previous three meetings between the teams have ended in a draw, with over 3.5 goals scored on two occasions.

Team news: Gonzalo Melero and Jose Campana are currently sidelined for Levante, while Oscar Duarte is also an injury doubt for the hosts.

As for Huesca, they will be without Antonio Valera, Denis Vavro and Gaston Silva for Friday’s trip to Levante.

If the recent meetings between Levante and Huesca are anything to go by, the two sides are likely to produce another draw this time around.

Forebet predicts that Levante and Huesca will play out a low-scoring draw on Friday, with both teams scoring at least once.
