Tottenham Meet Fulham in Rearranged EPL Fixture

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, there have been changes in the Premier League fixtures this week. Tottenham Hotspur were due to travel to Aston Villa on Wednesday night but because of a coronavirus outbreak in the Aston Villa squad, that game has been postponed.

However, Spurs will still have a fixture as their meeting with Fulham has been rearranged to be played on Wednesday.

Tottenham Hotspur faced a tricky FA Cup tie at Marine on Sunday night but produced a professional performance to win the match 5-0. It had the potential to be an embarrassing night for Spurs but they played well and thoroughly deserved the comprehensive victory.

That result means Spurs are undefeated in their last 5 games in all competitions, including a 3-0 victory at home over Leeds United plus a 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League.

Spurs have proven difficult to beat at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this season and they have lost only one of their last 13 home games in all competitions. They have won 8 of their last 9 home matches, including 4 of their last 5 in the Premier League.

Spurs have defeated Brighton, Manchester City, Arsenal, and Leeds United. They have scored 2 or more goals in each of those 4 fixtures.

Fulham were not expecting to play this week, so they have had little preparation for the game. They come into the match having defeated Queens Park Rangers 2-0 away from home in the FA Cup on the weekend.

However, Fulham required extra time to win the game and it will be interesting to see how the players respond having played 120 minutes on Saturday.

Fulham have been difficult to beat in recent games and they are on a 5 match unbeaten run in all competitions. They have drawn each of their last 4 Premier League matches including games at home against Liverpool, Brighton, and Southampton plus an away game at Newcastle United.

However, winning games away from home in the Premier League is proving tough and Fulham have recorded just a single victory from their 7 away Premier League matches this season. They have conceded goals in all 7 games.

Team news and Tottenham Hotspur will bring back Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min, Steven Bergwijn, Pierre Emil Højbjerg, Tanguy Ndombèlé, Eric Dier, and Hugo Lloris following their rest in the FA Cup. Matt Doherty is suspended.

Fulham may make a couple of changes from the team that started in the FA Cup on the weekend with Bobby De Cordova-Reid coming into midfield and Tosin Adarabioyo starting in defence.

This game has come as a bit of a surprise to Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur will be hoping to use that to their advantage.

In normal circumstances we would have expected to see Spurs come out on top in this game and nothing has changed in that respect. It would not be a surprise to see Spurs win, score 2 or more goals and keep a clean sheet.
