Sunday’s match has the potential to be high scoring. Their last seven meetings in all competitions finished with over 2.5 goals scored. Seven of the last eight fixtures between the clubs in all competitions ended with both teams finding the back of the net.
Those trends should continue this weekend as Atalanta and Sassuolo both find the back of the net to combine for more than 2.5 goals scored. Seven straight matches have ended with Atalanta winning against Sassuolo. However, this season’s Neroverdi are different.
Gasperini has two players suffering from injury. Mario Pasalic is a doubt as it stands due to a knock. Mattia Caldera could return to the side following his own fitness issues.
Sassuolo’s Roberto De Zerbi has just one injury issue. Filippo Romagna is recovering from a knee injury and may need more time to fully heal before returning.
Atalanta have won back-to-back home matches winning by a combined score of 7-1 versus Fiorentina and Roma. Sassuolo have the second-best away points figure with 17 from 21 possible.
Both teams are in form and playing well, which should lead to Sunday’s match in Bergamo ending in a score draw. Expect another match with both teams scoring and over 2.5 goals between Atalanta and Sassuolo.
