Winless Sheffield United travel to Turf Moor to face fellow strugglers Burnley on Tuesday, with the two sides separated by 11 points in the Premier League table.

The Blades find themselves rock bottom with just two points to their name, while Burnley are seventeenth – two points clear of the relegation zone.

Leading up to Christmas, Burnley were enjoying a four-game unbeaten streak, which included two wins and two draws.

Victories over Arsenal and Wolves, along with draws against Everton and Aston Villa, saw Sean Dyche’s side climb out of the bottom three.

However, despite recording 14 shots (six on target) against Leeds, the Clarets were beaten 1-0 on Boxing Day.

Unfortunately, most of Burnley’s joy this season has come away from home, with just two wins in their last 11 matches at Turf Moor in all competitions.

With Fulham and West Brom both starting to pick up points below them, Dyche’s men must return to winning was soon in order to escape the relegation battle.

On the flip side, Sheff Utd picked up just their second point of the season when they drew 1-1 with Brighton before Christmas.

But the Blades swiftly returned to losing ways on Boxing Day, as Everton picked up a 1-0 victory at Bramall Lane.

Two draws and 13 defeats have left Chris Wilder’s side six points adrift at the bottom of the table – and 11 points from safety.

Looking at the bigger picture, Sheff Utd have lost 16 of their previous 18 Premier League games and have only won three of their last 23 away from home.

The Blades are struggling at both ends of the pitch, but it is worth pointing out that they have conceded over 1.5 goals in eight of their last 12 away games in the league.

Head-to-head: Sheff Utd were unbeaten against Burnley last term, securing a 3-0 home win and a 1-1 draw at Turf Moor.

The two sides last clashed in the EFL Cup back in September, with Burnley advancing on penalties on that occasion.

Team news: Jack Cork, Majet Vydra, Dwight McNeil, Robbie Brady and Johann Berg Gudmundsson are all injury doubts for Burnley.

Sheffield United will be without John Lundstram, Sander Berge and Jack O’Connell for Tuesday’s clash, while strikers Oliver Burke and Oli McBurnie are both doubts.

Burnley have had their struggles this term, but the Blades have been nothing short of dreadful so far this season.

Forebet predicts that Burnley will edge Sheff Utd on Tuesday, with under 3.5 total match goals expected.
