Marseille could nick the points at Strasbourg
Strasbourg vs Olympique Marseille - 06/11/2020

Friday night features the clash between Strasbourg and Marseille in the French Ligue 1 with both sides keen to grab all three points but for different reasons at the Stade de la Meinau.
Looking at Strasbourg first, and the hosts have managed to pick up just two league wins to date this term in what has been a difficult and disappointing start to the new domestic campaign which has already resulted in Strasbourg losing seven of these nine matches so far.
Strasbourg’s successes this season have been limited to a 1-0 home win against Dijon and a 3-0 win on the road at Brest but the majority of results have been defeats for the hosts with three of their four home matches ending in losses.
Defeats to Nice 2-0, Lille 3-0 and a 3-2 loss to Lyon have contributed to Strasbourg’s current position in Ligue 1 to second from bottom and two points adrift of Nantes and the safety of fourth from bottom, prior to this Friday night clash with Marseille.
Onto Marseille and the visitors will be eager to set the record straight on the domestic front after being handed a third defeat on the trot in the Champions League following their midweek 3-0 defeat away from home at Porto on Matchday 3.
Previous defeats to Olympiakos 1-0 and Manchester City 3-0 complete Marseille’s misery on the European front and although there’s still a way to go in the group stages, it looks like Marseille may have to settle for a spot in the Europa League at best.
However, Marseille’s performances in this season’s Ligue 1 campaign to date have been pretty solid as the visitors have suffered just the one defeat from their eight matches played in total so far this term.
That defeat came in the shape of a 2-0 loss at home to Saint-Etienne but since that surprise loss, Marseille have put together a five-match unbeaten sequence in Ligue 1 which includes winning their last two matches on the trot with victories gained over Bordeaux and Lorient.
Results away from home have been even more impressive as Marseille are unbeaten in their last 12 matches on their travels which includes nine wins; Marseille have also won four of the previous six encounters against Strasbourg, so the visitors stand a decent chance of claiming the spoils here.
