West Bromwich Albion make their Premier League return this weekend, with Leicester City visiting the Hawthorns on Sunday afternoon.

West Brom ended a three-year absence from England’s top division by finishing second in the Championship last season – ten points behind Leeds United.

The Baggies led the way for much of the 2019/20 campaign, but a string of poor results towards the end of the season saw the club settle for second place.

West Brom enjoyed a 14-game unbeaten run between October and December, but they only managed to win three of the final 11 games and failed to win any of their last four.

However, the squad is packed with Premier League experience, with the likes of Carlie Austin, Hal Robson-Kanu, Matt Phillips and Jake Livermore all returning to the top-flight.

Matheus Pereira (8 goals, 20 assists) and Grady Diangan (8 goals, 7 assists) both shone last season, so keep an eye out for them this term.

On the flip side, Leicester’s 2019/20 campaign finished in disappointment, as the club missed out on a Champions League place.

The Foxes looked destined to secure a top-four finish following a strong start to the season, but a capitulation during the second half of the campaign eventually saw Leicester finish fifth – four points behind Chelsea.

Leicester only lost two of their opening 17 games last season. However, they only managed to win six of their final 21. Ultimately, this poor run cost the club a place in Europe’s premier club competition.

Brendan Rodgers has strengthened his squad with the addition of Timothy Castagne from Atalanta, although left-back Ben Chilwell has joined Chelsea.

2019/20 Golden Boot winner Jamie Vardy proved that age is just a number last season. The 33-year-old will surely be challenging for the price again this time around.

Head-to-head: Leicester beat West Brom 4-1 the last time these two teams met, although the Baggies had only lost one of their four meetings with the Foxes before that.

In their previous 15 encounters, West Brom have claimed seven wins, while Leicester have only managed five. The other three games were drawn.

Team news: West Brom have no injury concerns heading into this clash. Leicester will be without the suspended Jonny Evans, while Ricardo Pereira, Wes Morgan and James Maddison are all major doubts.

Forebet predicts that West Brom will make a flying start to their comeback Premier League campaign, with a high-scoring home victory on the cards.
