Juventus and Roma clash on final day of Serie A season
4023

Serie A champions Juventus will be aiming to finish their domestic campaign on a high when Roma visit to Allianz Stadium for the final league game of 2019/20 on Saturday.

Juventus clinched their ninth successive top-flight title last weekend, while Roma are guaranteed to finish fifth.

It’s fair to say that Maurizio Sarri’s men were probably still feeling the effects of their title party as they suffered a shock 2-0 loss to Cagliari last time out.

Juventus racked up seven straight wins between February and July to put them on the verge of the title, but the Old Lady stuttered over the finishing line.

Sarri’s side have only won two of their previous seven league games, with three defeats and two draws during that period preventing the club from clinching the Scudetto earlier.

However, with just one game remaining, Juventus sit four points clear of second-place Inter. It hasn’t been their most convincing campaign, but was the title ever in doubt?

With such a formidable home record – no losses in their last 37 league games at the Allianz Stadium – it’s hardly surprising that Juventus reign supreme once again.

Meanwhile, a solid seven-game unbeaten run – which includes six wins – has seen Roma secure fifth place in the table.

The capital club lost three consecutive games shortly after the lay-off, but they have bounced back to book their spot in next season’s Europa League.

Sure, Roma may be 11 points shy of the Champions League places. But after finishing the season so strongly, they will almost certainly be a force to be reckoned with next term.

Roma come into this game on the back of three straight wins, racking up an aggregate scoreline of 11-4 in the process.

Head-to-head: Juventus secured back-to-back victories over Roma back in January. A 2-1 league win was followed by a 3-1 Coppa Italia victory.

The Bianconeri have only lost one of their previous six meetings with Roma and have kept three clean sheets along the way.

Teams news: Sami Khedira will miss the final game of the season for Juventus, while Mattia De Sciglio, Giorgio Chiellini, and Douglas Costa are all injury doubts.

Roma are likely to be without Lorenzo Pellegrini after the midfielder suffered a nasty collision in the win over Fiorentina.

Juventus may have lost to Cagliari last time out, but the newly-crowned champion will be desperate to end the campaign with a win.

In-form Roma will cause Juventus some problems, but Forebet predicts that the home side will come out on top in a game that is likely to produce over 2.5 goals.
