Tenth-place Burnley can move to within two points of fifth-place Wolverhampton Wanderers with a win at Turf Moor on Wednesday.

Burnley are now five points inside the top half of the Premier League table following an excellent run of results.

Sean Dyche’s side have only lost one of their previous 13 league games – a run dating back to mid-January. Since then, seven wins and five draws have propelled them up the standings.

Burnley lost their first game back after the lay-off (a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Manchester City). But the Clarets are now unbeaten in their last five outings.

Victories over Watford, Crystal Palace, and West Ham, along with draws against Sheffield United and Liverpool, have kept the club's faint Europa League dreams alive.

Despite only seeing 25% possession at Anfield and recording just five shots to Liverpool’s 24, Burnley managed to snatch a 1-1 draw with the newly-crowned champions.

Meanwhile, Wolves remain in the hunt for a Champions League spot, although a Europa League place is looking more likely at this stage.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s men beat West Ham, Bournemouth, and Aston Villa to notch up three straight wins after the break.

However, back-to-back defeats to Arsenal and Sheff Utd at the beginning of July dented the club’s top-four ambitions.

In their previous game, Wolves got back on track with a convincing 3-0 victory over Everton, enjoying the lion’s share of possession and racking up eight shots on target.

Head-to-head: The two sides played out a 1-1 draw back in August. Ashley Barnes gave Burnley the lead early on, before Raul Jimenez netted an injury-time penalty.

Across their past five meetings, each team has picked up one win, with three draws also coming during that period.

It is also worth pointing out that this fixture doesn’t tend to produce many goals. In fact, each of the past five meetings have produced under 2.5 goals.

Team news: Burnley will be without Matthew Lowton, Jack Cork, Ben Mee, and Ashley Barnes, although key striker Chris Wood has returned from injury.

As for Wolves, Pedro Neto is on the treatment table, but Nuno Espirito Santo has no fresh injury concerns ahead of Wednesday’s clash.

This is set to be a tight battle between two strong sides. Judging by recent encounters, a low-scoring draw is on the cards. Forebet predicts that this game will end goalless.
