Burnley’s fine run set to continue against Bournemouth

In-form Burnley welcome Bournemouth to Turf Moor on Saturday. Sean Dyche’s side are unbeaten in four, while Bournemouth’s two-game winning streak was ended by Sheffield United last time out.
Following four consecutive Premier League defeats, Burnley have turned a corner in recent weeks – winning three of their previous four games.
The Clarets’ impressive run began with a comeback victory over Leicester before Burnley claimed a rare win at Old Trafford. After being held to a goalless draw by Arsenal, Burnley returned to winning ways with a win away at Southampton in the previous round.
With ten points from a possible twelve, Burnley are up to 11th in the table – five places and eight points ahead of sixteenth-place Bournemouth.
The Cherries appeared to have found a rhythm following back-to-back victories over relegation rivals Brighton and Aston Villa. But Bournemouth threw away a lead in their previous outing to eventually lose 2-1 at Bramall Lane.
Defeat to Sheff Utd has left Eddie Howe’s side perched just outside the bottom three – two points clear of the relegation zone.
With games against Chelsea and Liverpool up next for Bournemouth, Howe will be desperate for his team to snatch at least a point when they face Burnley this weekend.
However, the Cherries’ record against Burnley isn’t great. The two teams have met seven times in the Premier League in recent years, with the Clarets claiming five wins.
Burnley thrashed Bournemouth 4-0 at Turf Moor last season before securing a 3-1 victory in the reverse fixture. This season, Sean Dyche’s men claimed a 1-0 win on the south coast just before Christmas.
Additionally, Bournemouth have only managed to win three of their 13 away games in the Premier League this season.
Dyche could have a striker dilemma on his hands this weekend as Chris Wood will face a late fitness test before the game, while fellow forward Ashley Barnes is still sidelined through injury.
As for Bournemouth, midfielder Jefferson Lerma is set to return following suspension, but Charlie Daniels, David Brooks and Chris Mepham remain long-term absentees.
Burnley’s excellent recent form, coupled with their superior record in this fixture, means Sean Dyche’s side are expected to cruise to a comfortable win on Saturday.
Forebet predicts that Burnley will score over 1.5 goals on their way to victory. A clean sheet is also looking likely for the home side.
