Recent losses to Derby County, Bristol City and Preston North End have been major blows to The Tykes’s fight against relegation and not even a 2-1 home win against fellow Yorkshire outfit, Huddersfield Town, was enough to lift them out of the bottom three.
However, it appears that all is not lost as Barnsley have lost just 3 of their last 9 matches overall as the visitors have also recorded wins against QPR, Millwall and Huddersfield within this period, as well as picking up points in draws with Reading, West Brom and Swansea City.
With just 1 away win all season though, the best that Barnsley can appear to hope for here against Charlton is a draw at The Valley as Barnsley’s away record in the Championship is woeful; just 1 win out of their last 21 matches on their travels.
The previous meeting between these two sides ended in a 2-2 draw at Oakwell in the earlier corresponding fixture back in mid-August.
