Manchester United welcome Wolverhampton Wanderers to Old Trafford for the Premier League’s late kick off on Saturday.

Both sides have 34 points to their name and sit six points behind fourth-place Chelsea. However, Man Utd’s superior goal difference means they are fifth, while Wolves sit seventh.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side claimed a 1-0 victory over rivals Manchester City in their previous game. But a 3-1 defeat in the first leg of their semi-final tie saw United crash out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday.

In the Premier League, Man Utd have suffered back-to-back defeats. A 2-0 defeat at Liverpool was followed by a disappointing home loss to Burnley in their previous league game.

Solskaer’s men then thrashed League One outfit Tranmere Rovers 6-0 in the FA Cup before beating Man City at the Etihad last time out.

Wolves have also been pretty inconsistent recently and have won just on their previous five league games and one of their last seven in all competitions.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s team came from behind to beat Southampton 3-2 before pushing Liverpool all the way at Molineux, only to lose 2-1 in their previous outing.

Wolves have travelled well this season, losing three of their 12 away league games in 2019/20. This sees Wolves sit sixth in the away table.

With that being said, Man Utd have performed better at home this season, claiming 22 of their 34 points at Old Trafford.

This will be the fourth meeting between Man Utd and Wolves this season. The two teams drew 1-1 earlier in the campaign before drawing each other in the third round of the FA Cup.

Following a dull goalless draw, United hosted Wolves for a replay. Juan Mata’s second-half goal saw United book their place in the next round of the FA Cup with a narrow victory.

Key trio Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford all remain injured for Man Utd, so teenager Mason Greenwood could feature again this weekend as Solskjaer searches for goals.

As for Wolves, Ruben Vinagre is the club’s only notable absentee, so Nuno will be able to field a full-strength starting eleven at Old Trafford.

This is set to be a close encounter as both sides sit level on points in the Premier League standings.

Forebet predicts that Man Utd will claim a narrow victory with both teams likely to get on the scoresheet.
