Alaves have endured a poor La Liga campaign so far this season and are currently 14th place in the Spanish top-flight table, five points clear of the relegation zone.
A run of three games without a league win has not helped their chances of moving up the table. Last time out in the Spanish top-flight, they drew 1-1 Leganes.
Alaves have a woeful recent away record in the Spanish top-flight, having won just once in 12 matches on their travels. They have also lost six of their last seven away games in La Liga.
