Two Unbeaten Teams Meet at the Estadio de Mendizorroza

There are five games taking place in La Liga on Sunday this weekend and the second of those matches is between Deportivo Alavés and Sevilla.  The game will be played at the Estadio de Mendizorroza, in what is expected to be warm conditions.

Deportivo Alavés start the weekend in 7th place in La Liga and a win could take them above their opponents and into the top four should other results go their way. Sevilla are in 3rd place and have the possibility of going top should they win the match.

The hosts come into the game having won one and drawn two of their three La Liga games this season. Deportivo Alavés started the campaign with a narrow 1-0 home win over Levante before travelling to Getafe and picking up a good point in a 1-1 draw.  They then went to Real Sociedad and got another point in a 0-0 draw to complete their good start to the season.

Trends show Deportivo Alavés have won only two of their last ten La Liga games but they are undefeated in their three matches this season. Deportivo Alavés have been tough to beat and have drawn five of their last ten La Liga matches at home, winning two and losing three.

There have been under 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight La Liga games and in four of their last five at home.

Sevilla have started the season strongly, winning two and drawing one of their three matches in La Liga. They started the campaign with a good 2-0 win at Espanyol and followed that with a 1-0 win at Granada.  Their first home match of the season ended in disappointment as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Celta Vigo.

Sevilla took the lead in the game with just 9 minutes left but could not hold on and conceded an equaliser just 3 minutes later.

Trends show that while Sevilla are undefeated in five of their last six La Liga matches against Deportivo Alavés, they have managed to beat them only once away from home in their last six attempts.

There have been under 2.5 goals in six of the last eight games between Sevilla and Deportivo Alavés.

Team news and Deportivo Alavés are without Burgui who has a knee injury and is not expected back until October.  Fernando Pacheco is struggling with an ankle problem.

Sevilla have just one fitness concern and Lucas Ariel Ocampos is a doubt due to a foot injury.

This should be a very close game and goal scoring chances could be at a minimum.  It would not be a surprise to see the match end level with under 2.5 goals scored.
