We have reached the penultimate weekend in the Italian Serie A and the race for the top four is getting exciting.  On Sunday, we have a game between second and third as Napoli host Inter Milan at the Stadio San Paolo.

Napoli already have second place wrapped up again this season but Inter Milan are not safe in third. They have 66 points to their name, which is just 1 more than Atalanta and 4 more than AC Milan and Roma.

Therefore, a win for Inter Milan will secure them a top four place but a defeat could see it go down to the final day of the season.

Napoli have little to play for in terms of league position but they have won each of their last three Serie A games.  They have defeated Frosinone and SPAL away plus Cagliari at home.  However, trends show home form has been inconsistent of late.

Napoli have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six home league matches.  The wins have come against Udinese and Cagliari but there have been defeats against Juventus and Atalanta.  Scoring goals has not been a problem but Napoli have struggled to keep clean sheets.  In fact, they have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last five home games.

Inter Milan travel to Naples having defeated Chievo Verona 2-0 at home last weekend. That result means they are undefeated in their last seven Serie A matches.  However, they have won only half of those games with the wins coming at Genoa, Frosinone and home to Chievo.

Away form shows Inter Milan are undefeated in their last four Serie A matches.  The have been wins over AC Milan, Genoa and Frosinone plus a draw last time they were on their travels at Udinese.  Inter Milan have been scoring plenty of goals on the road and have netted at least 2 goals in four of their last six away Serie A matches.

However, they have kept just two clean sheets in those six games.

Looking ahead to the team news and Napoli are without Lorenzo Insigne, Vlad Chiriches and Nikola Maksimovic who are injured.  Dries Mertens and Arkadiusz Milik should start up-front.

Inter Milan are still without Sime Vrsaljko and the full-back could be joined on the treatment table by Stefan de Vrij and Matteo Politano.  Marcelo Brozovic and Danilo D'Ambrosio should return to the starting XI following suspension.

This a tough game to call and although Napoli have nothing to play for in terms of league position, it is their final home game of the season.  We could see both teams scoring but Napoli could finish their home campaign on a high with a win and dent Inter Milan’s top four hopes.
