In-form Hoffenheim Pushing for Champions League
2203

There is a full round of fixtures in the Bundesliga this weekend and much to look forward to throughout the league table.  Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are pushing for the title but below them there is a battle for the top four.

One of the clubs hoping to seal Champions League qualification is Hoffenheim.  On Sunday they meet Wolfsburg at the PreZero Arena in what is a massive game for the hosts.  Wolfsburg are in 9th place and have an outside chance of qualifying for Europe next season.

Hoffenheim begin the weekend in 6th place on 50 points. This leaves them 3 points behind 4th place Eintracht Frankfurt, which is the final Champions League qualifying position.  Hoffenheim have been in great form recently and trends show they are unbeaten in their last six games, winning five of them.

Hoffenheim have won each of their last four Bundesliga matches, with the wins coming at home against Bayer Leverkusen and Hertha Berlin plus away at Augsburg and Schalke.

Trends show Hoffenheim have won their last four matches on home soil, adding Hannover and Nurnberg to the list of defeated teams.  They have scored 2 or more goals in each of those four games and have conceded only twice.

Hoffenheim have scored at least one goal in each of their last fifteen league matches.

Wolfsburg have been inconsistent this season and that is summed up in their most recent run of results. They have won two, drawn one and lost three of their last six Bundesliga matches.  Last week they were held to a 1-1 draw at home by Eintracht Frankfurt and prior to that they lost 2-0 at RB Leipzig.

Away form shows three straight defeats and all of them have come without Wolfsburg scoring a single goal.  They lost 5-0 at Bayern Munich and 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund prior to the loss at RB Leipzig.

Conceding goals has been a problem for Wolfsburg away from home and they have conceded 2 or more goals in six of their last eight away games.  Trends show they have lost by 2 or more goals in three of their last six matches in all competitions.

Looking ahead to the team news and Hoffenheim are without the suspended Kerem Demirbay, which is a blow.  Alfons Amade, Robin Hack, Joelinton, Dennis Geiger and Lukas Rupp are all doubtful with injury.

Wolfsburg have injury problems of their own and Marvin Stefaniak and Koen Casteels will definitely miss out.  Paul Verhaegh, Jerome Roussillon, Paul-Georges N'Tep and Ignacio Camacho could also miss the game.

Hoffenheim are making a strong push towards the top four and will be confident of winning this game.  Expect to see the home team scoring 2 or more goals as they seal maximum points.
