Could Moyes’ Men Deal Another Hammer Blow to Klopp’s Farewell Tour?
5057

Following Wednesday’s Merseyside Derby defeat, Liverpool’s Premier League title dreams are hanging by a thread as they prepare to face West Ham United at the London Stadium on Saturday.

With only four matches remaining, Jurgen Klopp’s side find themselves three points behind table-topping Arsenal, with Manchester City also in the mix.

Can Liverpool keep their faint title hopes alive? Or will David Moyes’ men heap more misery on the Reds? Keep reading to discover what Forebet’s algorithm predicts.

Let’s start by looking at the hosts, West Ham, who suffered a 5-2 thrashing at the hands of Crystal Palace last time out, managing a solitary attempt on target.

Not only have the Hammers lost each of their last two Premier League games, but they have also picked up one victory in their previous seven outings.

It is also worth noting that West Ham have won only one of their last eight home games in the Premier League, recording five draws and two defeats in that time.

Having conceded 14 goals in their previous six home league games (2.3 goals per game), Moyes’ side will struggle to keep a clean sheet this weekend.

As for Liverpool, they suffered a 2-0 defeat to arch-rivals Everton in midweek, despite racking up 77% possession and 23 shots at Goodison Park.

That result means that Klopp’s men have lost two of their last three Premier League clashes, with a 1-0 defeat at Crystal Palace preceding a 3-1 victory at Fulham.

In truth, the Reds have been wildly inconsistent in recent weeks, recording four wins, one draw and four losses in their previous nine matches across all competitions.

That said, Liverpool have won seven of their last 10 Premier League away outings, scoring over 1.5 goals in six of those victories.

Head-to-head: Liverpool have already defeated West Ham twice this season, winning 3-1 in the Premier League before winning 5-1 in the EFL Cup back in December.

To make matters worse for the Hammers, they have lost nine of their last 10 meetings with Liverpool across all competitions, winning only one of the previous 16.

Team news: West Ham are currently without George Earthy due to injury, with Jarrod Bowen, Nayef Aguerd and Konstantinos Mavropanos all doubts for Saturday.

Liverpool’s injury list is made up of Joel Matip, Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley and Thiago Alcantara. There are also question marks over the availability of Cody Gakpo.

Although Liverpool have stuttered of late, they can take confidence from their recent results against West Ham, as they have already netted eight goals in this fixture in 2023-24.

Forebet predicts that both teams will find the back of the net on Saturday. However, Liverpool are expected to outscore the Hammers.
