Lazio are in a tailspin, having lost three consecutive Serie A matches. Their terrible form in all competitions led to coach Maurizio Sarri quitting on Thursday.

With an interim coach in charge, will our algorithm predict a Lazio win away to Frosinone?

Round No. 29 will see both Serie A clubs desperate for a win. Frosinone are 18th in the standings and losers of five of their last six matches.

Despite their awful run of form, the Lions are a mere one point from safety. A win over Lazio could propel Frosinone out of the bottom three and back up the table.

Lazio, on the other hand, are ninth in Serie A. It is a far cry from their runner-up finish to Napoli in 2022-23.

The Biancocelesti didn’t just lose their last three games; they were played off the park, scoring a mere one goal.

Eight points now separate Lazio from the top five. Nineteen of Lazio’s 40 points have come from the road this season.

Playing away from home could help the Biancocelesti get back in form. Why? Lazio won four of their last six matches on their travels.

Frosinone picked up a brilliant 21 points from 14 home matches. In comparison, they have only taken three points on the road.

The Lions aren’t an easy team to play at the Stadio Benito Stirpe. However, they are on a three-match winless streak at home.

Frosinone have Serie A’s second-worst defence ahead of matchday No. 29. They conceded 57 goals in 28 games and have a goal difference of -22.

The reverse fixture between the clubs finished 3-1 to Lazio. Frosinone’s Matias Soule opened the scoring in the 58th minute from the penalty spot.

Lazio took over from there, with Valentin Castellanos scoring in the 70th minute. Gustav Isaksen put Lazio into the lead two minutes later. Patric put the match out of reach with six minutes left on the clock.

Unlike previous seasons under Sarri, the goals have not gone in for Lazio. The team has scored just 33 times, with striker Ciro Immobile leading the way with six. It is a far cry from the goal scoring stats of Immobile’s past.

Frosinone’s goal scoring statistics leader is Soule. He has 10 goals this term, which has accounted for 29% of the team’s goals.

The X-factor in Saturday’s game could be the departure of Sarri. Our algorithm predicts a score of 1-0, as Lazio get a victory over Frosinone for the second time this season.
