Table-topping PSV Eindhoven welcome second-placed Feyenoord to the Philips Stadion on Sunday afternoon, with the hosts looking to maintain their unbeaten status in 2023-24.

With 23 matches in the books, the visitors find themselves 10 points behind the hosts, who have registered 21 wins and two draws this season.

Will PSV continue their march towards the title? Or could Feyenoord upset the apple cart? Keep reading to discover what Forebet’s algorithm predicts for Sunday’s clash.

PSV humiliated PEC Zwolle last weekend, thrashing the mid-table outfit 7-1, with Luuk de Jong adding another three goals to his ever-growing tally.

De Jong has now bagged 31 goals and 12 assists across all competitions this season, including 22 goals and nine assists in 23 Eredivisie appearances.

PSV won each of their opening 17 league games before drawing twice in the space of three outings, but they have since notched three straight wins, scoring 14 goals in the process.

Not only do PSV boast the best offensive record in the division – averaging 3.3 goals per game – but they also possess the best defensive record, having conceded a measly 11 goals.

In fairness, Feyenoord must be given huge credit for remaining within touching distance of PSV, with the Rotterdam outfit losing just two of their 23 league games this season.

Arne Slot’s side have won each of their last four Eredivisie matches and have also kept five consecutive clean sheets, avoiding defeat in each of their previous nine.

On Thursday, Feyenoord booked their place in the final of the KNVB Cup with a 2-1 victory over Groningen, racking up 73% possession and 22 shots.

That win extended Feyenoord’s unbeaten run across all competitions to 14 matches, excluding the penalty shootout loss against Roma in the Europa League.

Head-to-head: In January, Feyenoord knocked PSV out of the KNVB Cup with a 1-0 victory at De Kuip, although PSV won the reverse fixture 2-1 in December.

It is also worth noting that Feyenoord have failed to win any of their last four league meetings with PSV, recording two draws and two losses in that time.

Team news: PSV’s Noa Lang will miss Sunday’s clash due to a muscle injury, while Guus Til is a doubt after missing the past five matches.

As for Feyenoord, they will be without injured duo Justin Bijlow and Gernot Trauner this weekend, while Gjivai Zechiel and Thomas van den Belt are doubts.

Although PSV remain unbeaten in the Eredivisie this season, Feyenoord have shown that they are capable of competing with the runaway leaders.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Feyenoord will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to defeating PSV.
