Premier League climbers Bournemouth travel to Loftus Road to take on Championship strugglers Queens Park Rangers in the third round of the FA Cup on Saturday.

Thanks to a run of six victories in eight matches, the Cherries find themselves 12th in the Premier League table – three points shy of the top half.

As for QPR, they sit second from bottom in the Championship standings, having failed to win any of their previous six encounters.

On New Year’s Day, Queens Park Rangers suffered a 2-1 defeat to Cardiff City, despite racking up 64% possession and eight shots on home soil.

Not only have the Hoops lost four of their last five matches, but they have also failed to score in four of their previous six.

When you look at the bigger picture, QPR have managed to win just three of their last 21 games, suffering 12 defeats along the way.

Having won only two of their 13 home games this season, Queen’s Park Rangers look set to struggle against Bournemouth’s Premier League quality.

Meanwhile, the Cherries suffered a 3-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last time out, despite racking up 24 shots against Ange Postecoglou’s side.

That loss ended a seven-game unbeaten streak for Bournemouth, who registered six wins and one draw across November and December.

Andoni Iraola’s men have been particularly strong on their travels of late, winning four of their previous five away games.

Having scored 20 goals across 11 away outings this term – averaging 1.8 goals per game – Bournemouth will back themselves to get the job done on Saturday.

Head-to-head: QPR have managed to win just one of their last five matches against Bournemouth, suffering three defeats in that time.

In terms of the FA Cup, this is only the second meeting between QPR and Bournemouth, with the Hoops winning 2-0 all the way back in 1966-67.

Team news: Queens Park Rangers will be without Jack Colback this weekend as the midfielder continues to recover from a knock.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth’s injury list contains Tyler Adams, Milos Kerkez, Lloyd Kelly, Ryan Fredericks, Antoine Semenyo and Emiliano Marcondes.

When you combine QPR’s poor record this season with Bournemouth’s impressive recent form, all the signs point towards an away victory on Saturday.

Forebet predicts that Bournemouth will book their place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a clean-sheet win against Queens Park Rangers.
