One of the biggest Serie A fixtures of each season is upon us this weekend as Juventus take on Roma in Turin with the Old Lady aiming to keep on the heels of Inter Milan at the top of the table ahead of 2024.

On the other hand to Juventus’ excellent form shown this season, Roma have once again struggled in 2023/24, which comes off the back of a loss in the Europa League final and another struggle in the last league campaign.

This time around, Jose Mourinho’s men are sitting down in sixth and are behind Juventus by 12 points in the Serie A table.

In fact, this points tally also means they are behind Inter in first place by 16, and another title charge is far from on the cards.

Roma are behind Bologna in fourth place by just four points after their recent win over the champions Napoli, so there is something to shout about for the men from the capital.

In that win over Napoli, Lorenzo Pellegrini got back amongst the goals, as Romelu Lukaku continued to impress with another finish late on in the game that brought him onto eight Serie A goals in 14 matches, while he also has five goals in six Europa League fixtures.

On the other hand to this fantastic win, it does also mean that Roma head into this game off the back of three wins in the past five games throughout December, having only also defeated Sheriff Tiraspol in the Europa League final group stage game and Sassuolo at the Mapei Stadium.

Worse yet, Bologna have managed to beat Mourinho’s side, while they have also drawn with Fiorentina this month - both sides sit above them in the Serie A table.

As for Juventus, they are ahead of Roma by 12 points and are on an unbeaten run of 12 games - no side across Italian football's top flight has a better run across all competitions after Inter's recent loss in the Coppa Italia.

The Turin outfit last defeated Frosinone on the road, while they have also drawn with Genoa but defeated Napoli and Monza throughout December.

Further results within the past two months have seen them draw with Inter and beat Cagliari and Fiorentina.

Juventus are behind Inter by only four points, meaning they will head into 2024 guaranteed to finish in second with a 11 points gap on AC Milan.

Forebet predicts a win for Juventus and under 2.5 goals.
