Bournemouth will go in search of their fifth consecutive Premier League victory when they take on Tottenham Hotspur in North London on Sunday.

The Cherries claimed a 3-0 win against Fulham last time out, while Spurs suffered a 4-2 thrashing at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion.

As a result, 12th-placed Bournemouth trail fifth-placed Tottenham by 11 points, with Ange Postecoglou’s side sitting six points behind table-topping Liverpool.

On Thursday, Spurs found themselves 4-0 down after 75 minutes against Brighton, but late goals from Alejo Veliz and Ben Davies set up a grandstand finish.

Despite their best efforts, Tottenham failed to mount a comeback on the south coast, meaning they now sit one point outside the top four.

Postecoglou’s men entered Thursday’s clash on a three-game winning streak, having defeated Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Everton.

When you look at the bigger picture, however, Spurs have struggled for consistency in recent weeks, recording three wins, one draw and five losses in their past nine matches.

By contrast, Bournemouth are one of the most in-form teams in the Premier League right now, having picked up six wins and one draw since their last loss.

Thanks to victories over Crystal Palace, Manchester United, Nottingham Forest and Fulham, the Cherries head into Sunday’s showdown on a four-game winning streak.

It is also worth noting that Andoni Iraola’s men have won each of their previous four away games, scoring 11 goals in the process.

Having netted 18 goals in their last seven matches – keeping four clean sheets for good measure – Bournemouth will be confident of picking up another positive result this weekend.

Head-to-head: Last season, Bournemouth claimed a memorable 3-2 victory over Tottenham in North London, with Dango Ouattara scoring a 95th-minute winner.

Still, the Cherries have managed to win just two of their 13 previous Premier League meetings with Spurs, suffering nine defeats along the way.

Team news: Tottenham’s extensive injury list features Ivan Perisic, Cristian Romero, Rodrigo Bentancur, Micky van de Ven, James Maddison, Manor Solomon and Ryan Sessegnon.

Bournemouth also have multiple injury absentees, with Tyler Adams, Lewis Cook, Lloyd Kelly, Ryan Fredericks and Emiliano Marcondes on the sidelines.

Although Bournemouth have upped their game in recent weeks, Tottenham should have enough quality to claim all three points on Sunday.

Forebet predicts that Tottenham Hotspur will score over 2.5 goals on their way to dispatching Bournemouth.
