Can Brentford arrest the slide when Wolves visit the capital?

Brentford will be looking to halt a three-game losing streak when they entertain Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday.

Due to a string of negative results, the Bees have dropped to 14th in the Premier League table – three points behind 11th-placed Wolves.

Still, Thomas Frank’s side have a game in hand on Wednesday’s visitors, meaning they could return to the top half in the coming weeks.

Brentford suffered a 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa last time out, with late goals from Alex Moreno and Ollie Watkins cancelling out Keane Lewis-Potter's opener.

As a result, the Bees head into Wednesday’s clash on a three-match losing run, having suffered defeats to Brighton and Sheffield United earlier this month.

That said, Frank’s men have enjoyed plenty of success at the Gtech Community Stadium recently, winning three of their last five home league games.

Having lost just four of their previous 24 home clashes in the Premier League, Brentford will be confident of returning to winning ways this week.

As for Wolverhampton Wanderers, they claimed a 2-1 victory over Chelsea on Christmas Eve, courtesy of goals from Mario Lemina and Matt Doherty.

Despite seeing just 31% possession while conceding 16 shots, Gary O’Neil’s side managed to secure all three points at Molineux.

Wolves have now lost just one of their last four Premier League games, with a victory over Burnley and a draw against Nottingham Forest preceding Sunday’s success.

Having lost each of their previous four away games, however, Wolves will be eager to rediscover some form on the road before too long.

Head-to-head: Wolves have avoided defeat in each of their last three meetings with Brentford, picking up two wins and one draw in the process.

In terms of the bigger picture, the Bees have managed to win just one of their previous eight matches against Wolves, suffering five defeats in that time.

Team news: Brentford’s lengthy injury list contains Rico Henry, Bryan Mbeumo, Aaron Hickey, Kevin Schade, Kristoffer Ajer, Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen.

On the flip side, Wolves are currently without Joseph Hodge due to injury, while Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, Craig Dawson and Pedro Neto are doubts.

When you couple Brentford’s strong home record with Wolves’ poor away form, all the signs point towards a home win on Wednesday.

Forebet predicts that Brentford will claim all three points on home soil, scoring over 1.5 goals on their way to victory.
