La Liga keeps going this midweek with Getafe heading to Atletico Madrid with the Civitas Metropolitan Stadium playing hosts to the fourth-placed home team and an away side heading into this one with hopes of a challenge for Europe this season.

Although still quite topsy-turvy this campaign, Getafe are heading into this match up in eighth and with the same amount of losses on the board as Atletico.

On the other hand, with five fewer wins, they are coming into this game with just 21 goals scored and 20 let in with seven draws on the board too.

Last time out, Getafe registered one of their results of the season as Borja Mayoral scored after five minutes from the penalty spot before Jaime Mata got on the scoresheet. Mason Greenwood would add another with a goal from the penalty spot with just 10 minutes left.

Getafe have also managed to beat Valencia this month, meaning their only loss within the past six weeks has seen them lose to Las Palmas at the start of December.

The club have also managed to get into the next round of the Copa del Rey with a 2-1 win over Atzeneta where Juanmi Latasa scored twice in the second half of a comeback.

Other results have seen the club defeat Valencia and Almeria during this period, as they also have managed to draw with Granada 1-1 and beat Cadiz 1-0 at the start of the month.

As well as this, the club recorded the highest-ever win on record in their Copa del Rey history, as they smashed Tardienta 12-0 with eight different goalscorers getting in on the act, including two goals from Greenwood.

As for Atletico, they lost for the fourth time in La Liga over the weekend with a loss to Athletic Club on the road. It keeps them down in fourth with a gap of four points on Real Sociedad. They have also now got a gap of eight points on first-placed Real Madrid.

Atletico have managed to als head into the next round of the Champions League in recent weeks by beating Feyenoord in the Netherlands and also defeating Lazio 2-0 in the group stages.

The Madrid side have also lost to Barcelona and beaten Almeria in December to keep up their hopes of more European football for next season.

Forebet predicts a win for Atletico and under 2.5 goals.
