Burnley Have a Great Chance for a First Home Win Against Sheffield United

Burnley and Sheffield United will meet in arguably the biggest game of their season so far for either side with the two sat in the relegation zone and struggling for any sort of form in what is no doubt going to be a long season fighting relegation.

Burnley are the side sitting bottom of the table after Sheffield United moved onto two draws recently, while Everton’s 10-point deduction has also sent the Blades into 18th and not 17th.

The Clarets have just one win on the board in 2023/24 and are now also out of the EFL Cup at the round of 16 stage after a 3-0 battering from Everton at Goodison Park.

Their last and only win was against Luton Town back at the start of October that saw them win 2-1 at Kenilworth Road with a goal each from Lyle Foster and Jacob Bruun Larsen.

However, since that sole Premier League win Vincent Kompany's men have lost to Chelsea and Crystal Palace at home, while suffering losses on the road against Brentford, Bournemouth and Arsenal before West Ham beat them at Turf Moor in a brutal comeback win last weekend.

Kompany now sees his side bottom of the table with the fewest goals scored in the league this season (10) and an alarming gap of five points on Luton already, despite beating them.

On the other hand, the visit of Sheffield United should give them their best chance at a first home win of the season.

As for Sheffield United, that draw away to Brighton & Hove Albion just before the international break is the only difference between them and Burnley right now, as they were stunned by Bournemouth at Bramall Lane last time out.

A shock loss to the Cherries was their 10th of the campaign already, as their only win has been over Wolverhampton Wanderers a few weeks back.

Oliver Norwood was the hero that day with a finish in the 100th minute from the penalty spot.

Burnley will be without Arijanet Muric and Jack Cork for this game, while Lyle Foster won't play for a while.

Sheffield United will see injuries to Tom Davies and Daniel Jebbison keep them out until January, while Chris Basham is out for the season. Rhian Brewster is also ruled out alongside Rhys Norrington-Davies.

Forebet predicts a win for Burnley and over 2.5 goals in what would be a crucial three points for them
