Brentford vs Luton Town - 02/12/2023

Luton Town suddenly burst to life in their last six games, taking five points from 18 points on offer.
Although it doesn’t seem like a lot of points, Luton Town looked set to finish in the bottom three.
The Hatters’ improved form and Everton’s 10-point penalty could see them rescue their season.
Still, there is a long way to go and on Saturday, Luton Town will travel to west London to play Brentford.
The Bees head into round No. 14 in 11th place, with 16 points, seven more than Luton.
Brentford are in poor form ahead of the match at the GTech Stadium. They lost their last two games in the Premier League.
A 3-0 loss away to Liverpool was followed by a 1-0 defeat at home to Arsenal. The two losses ended a strong three-game winning streak for Brentford.
Brentford and Luton Town last played in 2020-21 when both teams were in the EFL Championship.
The Bees hold an edge in the teams’ last six head-to-head encounters in all competitions, with four wins and two defeats.
Thomas Frank’s team has struggled at home this term, with 2W-3D-2L and a goal difference of +1.
Without Ivan Toney, the team has scored just 12 times in seven home matches. Meanwhile, the defence allowed 11 goals in seven games.
Luton Town go to London on the back of two straight away losses. The Hatters took a mere four points from seven away games.
Goal scoring is an issue for Luton away from home. They tallied just six goals. The defence allowed 15 goals to opponents.
Frank could have nine players absent for Saturday’s match. Rico Henry continues to rehab a knee injury. Fellow full-back Aaron Hickey is also ruled out of the game.
Kevin Schade is still out of action following a groin injury. Defender Nathan Collins is also on the shelf and won’t play.
The quartet of Josh Dasilva, Mikkel Damsgaard, Mathias Jensen, and Mas Roerslev are all battling to get fit for the match.
Luton manager Rob Edwards won’t have Dan Potts available due to injury. Joining Potts on the sidelines will be Mads Andersen, Reece Burke, and Albert Sambi Lokonga due to injuries.
Midfielder Marvelous Nakamba is also set to miss the game following a knee injury.
Brentford should take advantage of Luton’s poor away form. The Bees should do just enough despite their injury issues to pick up a 2-1 win. Luton’s away goal scoring issues should continue in west London.
