Four points separate twelfth-placed Torino and seventh-placed Atalanta in the Serie A table ahead of Monday’s showdown at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Due to the congested nature of the standings, Atalanta sit four points shy of the top four, while Torino find themselves six points outside the bottom three.

Torino’s last victory over Atalanta came back in 2019. Can the hosts buck that trend? Or will the visitors extend their unbeaten run in this fixture to eight games?

Torino head into Monday’s clash on the back of a 2-0 defeat at Bologna, meaning they have taken just one point from their previous two matches.

The hosts also endured a five-game winless run between September and October, with only two victories coming in their last nine league outings.

Although Torino have lost just one of their last six home league games, they have managed to win only two of their previous 13.

It is also worth noting that Torino possess one of the worst offensive records in the Italian top flight, having scored a measly 10 goals in 13 games this season.

As for Atalanta, they played out a 1-1 draw with Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon on Thursday, with Marcus Edwards canceling out Gianluca Scamacca’s opener.

Having picked up three wins and two draws to remain unbeaten in the Europa League, La Dea are assured of a spot in the knockout phase.

It is worth remembering, however, that Atalanta have managed to win just one of their last five games across all competitions, recording two draws and two losses.

That said, La Dea have enjoyed plenty of success on the road of late, losing only one of their previous six aways games in all competitions.

Head-to-head: Torino have failed to win any of their last seven Serie A meetings with Atalanta, recording two draws and five defeats in that time.

Since Torino’s last victory over La Dea back in 2019, Atalanta have scored 25 goals in seven encounters, averaging 3.6 goals per game during that period.

Team news: Ange Caumenan N’Guessan, Perr Schuurs, Saba Sazonov and Samuele Ricci are all currently unavailable for the hosts.

Atalanta also have a long list of injury absentees, with Charles De Ketelaere, Davide Zappacosta, El Bilal Toure, Jose Luis Palomino, Rafael Toloi and Sead Kolasinac on the sidelines.

Given that both sides have struggled for consistency in recent times, Monday’s showdown looks destined to be a close-fought battle.

Forebet predicts that Torino and Atalanta will play out a low-scoring draw, with both teams scoring under 1.5 goals.
