Real Madrid will be looking to extend their unbeaten streak in La Liga to eight matches when they face off-form Cadiz at Nuevo Mirandilla on Sunday.

With 13 games in the books, Los Blancos find themselves second in the table – two points below surprise leaders Girona and two points clear of Barcelona.

At the opposite end of the standings, Cadiz occupy 16th place. Not only are the hosts 22 points behind Real Madrid, but they are also just three points clear of the relegation zone.

Cadiz head into Sunday’s showdown on an eight-game winless run in the league, having recorded three draws and five losses since their last victory.

With four defeats coming in their previous five La Liga outings, the hosts are among the most off-form teams in the Spanish top flight right now.

In terms of the bigger picture, Cadiz have managed to win just two of their 12 league matches this season, recording four draws and six losses in the process.

To make matters worse for the hosts, they are the lowest scorers in the division, having netted a measly 10 goals this term.

By contrast, Real Madrid have lost only one of their 13 La Liga encounters this season, picking up 10 victories and two draws along the way.

In addition to boasting the best defensive record in the division, Los Blancos also possess the third-best offensive record.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side have avoided defeat in each of their last seven league games, securing five wins and two draws while keeping four clean sheets.

Better still, Real Madrid enter Sunday’s clash on a 10-game unbeaten streak across all competitions, boasting a 100% record in the Champions League for good measure.

Head-to-head: Cadiz have failed to win any of their last five La Liga encounters with Real Madrid, recording two draws and three defeats in that time.

On top of that, Los Blancos have lost just one of their previous eight league meetings with Cadiz, picking up five wins and two draws.

Team news: Cadiz are still without long-term injury absentee Martin Calderon, who has not featured this season due to a cruciate ligament tear.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s lengthy injury list contains Thibaut Courtois, Eder Militao, Aurelien Tchouameni, Vinicius Junior, Eduardo Camavinga, Kepa and Jude Bellingham.

Given the 22-point gulf between Cadiz and Real Madrid, the visitors are expected to extend their lead over the hosts this weekend.

Forebet predicts that Cadiz and Real Madrid will combine for over 2.5 goals on Sunday, with Los Blancos outscoring the strugglers.
