Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to extend their unbeaten start to the Premier League season when they host London rivals Fulham on Monday night.
With eight matches in the books, table-topping Spurs sit level on points with second-placed Arsenal, as both sides have picked up six wins and two draws.
Holding a record of three wins, two draws and three defeats, Fulham find themselves 12th – nine points shy of high-flying Tottenham.
It is no exaggeration to say that Tottenham have made a remarkable start under new manager Ange Postecoglou, remaining unbeaten in 2023-24.
Having taken 20 points from a possible 24, Spurs are sitting pretty at the summit of the standing thanks to their superior goal difference.
Only three teams have scored more Premier League goals than Tottenham this season, while only four sides have conceded fewer goals.
Thanks to the team’s all-round level of performance, Postecoglou’s men are already being talked about as title contenders, but there is still a long way to go.
On the flip side, Fulham have experienced an indifferent start to 2023-24, taking 11 points from a possible 24 to remain in mid-table obscurity.
Earlier in the season, the Cottagers claimed clean-sheet victories over Everton and Luton Town before defeating Sheffield United 3-1 before the international break.
However, Marco Silva’s men have also recorded several disappointing results, losing 3-0 to Brentford and 5-1 to Manchester City.
It is also worth noting that Fulham have managed to win just one of their four away games this season, conceding seven goals in the process.
Head-to-head: Fulham have failed to win any of their last eight Premier League meetings with Tottenham, suffering seven defeats along the way.
Given that each of the previous five encounters have produced under 3.5 goals, Monday’s clash will likely be a low-scoring affair.
Team news: Tottenham’s injury list contains Ivan Perisic, Manor Solomon, Ryan Sessegnon and Rodrigo Bentancur, while Yves Bissouma is suspended.
Fulham will be without the injured duo of Tosin Adarabioyo and Issa Diop on Monday, while Adama Traore and Kenny Tete are doubts.
When you couple Tottenham’s strong start to the season with Fulham’s poor recent record against Spurs, all the signs point towards a comfortable home win here.
Forebet predicts that Tottenham Hotspur will score over 1.5 goals and keep a clean sheet on their way to dispatching Fulham, extending their unbeaten streak in the process.
