Following a fortnight without any top-flight action in Spain, Friday’s La Liga offering sees Osasuna host struggling Granada at El Sadar.

With nine matches in the books, Granada find themselves second from bottom in the La Liga table – three points above Almeria and two points inside the relegation zone.

On the flip side, Osasuna sit 12th – four points clear of Granada and five points shy of the European places. Will the hosts continue to climb this weekend?

Osasuna made an impressive start to their La Liga campaign, winning two of their opening three matches thanks to victories over Celta Vigo and Valencia.

Since then, however, Osasuna have managed to pick up a solitary victory in six league matches, suffering four defeats in that time.

It is also worth noting that Osasuna are yet to triumph on home soil this season, having recorded one draw and three defeats at El Sadar.

Not only have Osasuna conceded two goals in three of their four home matches this term, but they have also found the back of the net on just one occasion.

As for Granada, they have only managed to win one of their nine La Liga clashes this season, recording three draws and five losses in the process.

Granada’s sole victory came against Mallorca back in August. Following that, they suffered three straight defeats before registering three successive draws.

To make matters worse, Granada have taken one point from a possible 12 on the road this term, conceding a whopping 12 goals along the way.

Unsurprisingly, Granada possess the second-worst defensive record in the division, having conceded 23 goals in nine outings so far.

Head-to-head: The recent head-to-head record between Osasuna and Granada is notably even, as both sides have won three of the previous nine La Liga meetings.

It is also worth pointing out that both teams have scored in eight of the last 14 La Liga encounters, producing over 1.5 goals on 12 occasions in that sequence.

Team news: Osasuna’s injury list contains Unai Garcia (knee), Moi Gomez (muscle) and Johan Mojica (muscle).

Granada have a couple of injury problems of their own, with goalkeeper Raul Fernandez (finger) and defender Victor Diaz (knee) on the sidelines.

Although Granada have started the season poorly, Osasuna won’t find life easy as they aim to rediscover some form after the international break.

With that in mind, Forebet predicts that Osasuna and Granada will share the points in a low-scoring stalemate on Friday.
