Pyramids FC aiming to complete the domestic double over Tala'ea El-Gaish

Pyramids FC will finish the Egyptian Premier League season in second place and qualify for next season’s CAF Champions League.

The club is now aiming to finish the campaign strongly and do the domestic double over Tala'ea El-Gaish this weekend.

Tala'ea El-Gaish are not safe from relegation. They will play their final match of the season this weekend – several teams still have games in hand – and could end the campaign in the bottom three.

The Army’s Vanguard are 14th in the standings and three points ahead of 16th-place Ghazl El Mahalla.

A loss to Pyramids could see one of the two teams below Tala'ea El-Gaish leapfrog them in the table.

Not only would Pyramids need to lose Tala'ea El-Gaish, but they would need to concede several goals. Currently, Tala'ea El-Gaish's goal difference over Ghazl is +10.

They would need to lose significantly, and Ghazl El Mahalla would need to win big on Friday against Haras El Hodoud.

The last six games between Pyramids FC and Tala'ea El-Gaish produced an incredible seven red cards.

Each of their last six matches saw at least one player sent off. The reverse fixture between the clubs, a 1-0 win for Pyramids, saw both teams receive red cards.

Pyramids go into the match in good form. They took 15 points from the last 18 points on offer in the league, scoring 11 goals and conceding five. Pyramids did lose last time out, falling 2-1 to Ceramica Cleopatra.

Tala'ea El-Gaish may be just three points above the relegation zone, but they are in good form ahead of their trip to Cairo.

The Army’s Vanguard took 10 points from the last four matches. Tala'ea El-Gaish kept four straight clean sheets and scored four times.

Pyramids FC manager Jaime Pacheco will be without forward Ramadan Sobhi due to a torn muscle. He is the only currently injured player.

Tala'ea El-Gaish manager Abdelhamid Bassiouni have two players in the treatment room.

Midfielder El Sayed Abo-Amma has a torn ACL and will miss the game. Midfielder Abdelrahmen Shika is out with a torn Achilles tendon.

Pyramids FC are the best home team in the Egyptian Premier League. The Cairo team should post a 13th home win and stay unbeaten at the 30 June Stadium this season.

Pacheco’s team is the second-best scoring side in the league with 51 goals. Pyramids FC should pick up a 3-0 victory against Tala'ea El-Gaish to win for the 13th time at home.
