Fiorentina and Roma Likely to Draw Ahead of Their European Finals

Fiorentina are aiming to move on from their loss in the Coppa Italia final to Inter Milan during the week as the club welcomes Roma to the Artemio Franchi Stadium with just two games left to play in Serie A.

Everything looked to be going well for Fiorentina in their Wednesday Coppa Italia final with Inter after a goal in the first three minutes from Nicolas Gonzalez.

However, a quickfire brace from Lautaro Martinez before the end of the first half ended up being the difference in a 2-1 loss to the Champions League finalists.

This is also coupled with a draw with Torino last weekend and it now means Fiorentina have dropped into 11th in the table after sitting ninth.

They are behind Torino in 10th on the head-to-head record, and they sit behind Monza in eighth by two points, so there is still a chance the club can get into the top eight once more.

Both these two sides have a European cup final to look forward to and will no doubt be eyeing up those matches instead.

Fiorentina will battle with West Ham United in two weeks, but Roma have a battle with Sevilla to come in the next few days.

Jose Mourinho's men, unlike Fiorentina, cannot let up here, however, as they only sit above Juventus by one point in the race for the top six.

A spot in the Champions League is unlikely for Roma now that they sit behind AC Milan by four points with just six points left to play for - their best hope is to beat Sevilla and get into the Champions League that way.

In fact, Mourinho's side are only back in the top six because of Juventus' 4-1 loss to Empoli and their 10-point deduction which came just moments before kick off.

Roma have drawn their past three games now after a 0-0 clash with Bologna two weeks ago before a 0-0 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League. The Rome side also drew 2-2 with Salernitana in the last game.

Roma have now not won in Serie A since a victory over Udinese five weeks ago after also losing to Atalanta, Inter and draws with Monza and Milan. With the Europa League just four days away, Mourinho also likely rests some players.

Forebet predicts a draw in this game and for the match to see under 2.5 goals.
